Bodles needed to raise a lot of money by
the end of July, 2004
in order to keep the building from being sold.
It's was community effort -
a cooperation of hundreds of great folks - and successful.
Bodles will remain O.C.'s Premier Live Music venue
for the foreseeable future thanks to all of you,
publicly recognized or not, who have made it happen.

Many of our supporters have asked:
"What Can I Do To Help?"
Here's a list of things YOU can do now
and going forward to
Save The Music!
Please don't let your interests & efforts
begin & end with our fundraising events!
1) Whenever attending a show or even an open
mic,
buy a dinner, appetizer or dessert.
Food and beverage sales are what sustain us;
The majority of money made on ticket sales go
mostly to support the acts.
2) Support lesser known acts.
We often sellout for famous performers but
find our room mostly empty for others.
If you like the genre of music billed,
we guarantee that you will like the group we are presenting,
or we will give you your ticket money back.
Take a chance on groups you are not familiar with,
you might be experiencing the next
Bruce Springsteen, Elton John or Melissa Ethridge!
(at the very least you might discover an incredibly talented act
that will bring you many hours of listening pleasure).
3) Be on our street teams.
We are always in the process of organizing teams
to cover the surrounding areas with printed material.
It doesn't take a lot of time to distribute around your neighborhood,
place of work,
local delis, real estate offices, retail stores, etc.
Stop by on a biweekly, weekly or even
monthly basis to get the printed flyers & schedules
4) Buy a concert membership.
There are several levels to choose from and you will receive discounted
ticket prices and a few other perks.
5) Have a party at Bodles!
Are you having a party or know someone else
that might be planning a party?
We cater parties on and off premises.
Ask for a party brochure next time at Bodles or call
and we will mail you one or two or ten.
6) Talk to your company's marketing or
HR department.
A lot of times bigger corporations have designated dollars
for community projects or good will causes.
Maybe they want to sponsor a concert by buying a block of tickets
to give out to various organizations or maybe they want to give
them to employees as incentive awards!
7) Don't forget about us until the next
big name catches your eye!
In order to stay solvent,
we need our customer base to grow and our
customers to visit us as often as possible.
8) Buy The CD!

However, now's not the
time to relax too much!
In order to stay in business,
Bodles still needs your support!

Here's a few inspirational quotes
(as true today as ever before):
I think my fans will follow me into our combined old age.
Real musicians and real fans stay together for a long, long
time.
- Bonnie Raitt -
I think music in itself is healing.
It's an explosive expression of humanity.
It's something we are all touched by.
No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music.
- Billy Joel -
I would advise you to keep your overhead down;
avoid a major drug habit; play everyday,
and take it in front of other people.
They need to hear it, and you need them to hear it.
- James Taylor -

Kudos to those who have stepped forward and gave of their
time and efforts!
Please attend any performance by the
finest musicians and the greatest people to be found on this
planet.

Here's an excerpt from a timely Black 47 newsletter.
See more about "The house band for New York City" at:
www.black47.com
Have you heard that Bodles Opera House in Chester, NY may
be closing down? The word went out a couple of weeks ago. Too much money
has been lost over the years. I would appeal to anyone who lives within
fifty miles of the place to go along and support this wonderful establishment,
before it goes under. Remember, once gone, clubs will not return - nor
will they be replaced - except, perhaps, with some form of a trumped-up
disco - velvet ropes and security intact - that would as soon insult you
and turn you away, as provide live music. Bodles is a place in a million.
It's from a different era and time - when live music was one of the most
important things on people's minds. The PA is great, the sightline fine,
and the beer and drinks all top shelf. Added to that, Bodles hires great
bands and solo performers there every week and you won't see us there
in November if it goes under in the meantime. So, come on out, blow up
your TV for a night. Ever wonder why you're so exhausted and have so little
time for anything? Try turning off that dumb box for a night. I know you're
worn out from working so hard, but did you really think it would ever
come to this? Very soon live music, rock & roll and a lot of the things
you held dear will be mere scenes on videos, if you don't act now. Save
Bodles! You may be saving a part of yourself.
